Accessibility

The first thing I'll say here is THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE DESIGNING IN TERMS OF BARRIERS BEFORE YOU PROCEED!

Anything you produce can fall within "design" from the simplest snippet of information to the most complex technology or building.

The Disability Discrimination Act is likely to force you to do certain things as part of your job, please don't think negatively about this but take it as a chance to learn about how better to break down barriers that society has a great habit of putting in front of people like me.

What barriers do you face in your life? Would removing a bureaucratic form or a safety risk from your life make it easier and more pleasant? I'm sure it would, so why put barriers in the way of others?

For advice on the production of accessible websites go to World Wide Web Consortium Web Accessibility Initiative (W3C WAI)

For advice on the production of accessible information in general go to the Disability Rights Commission or the RNIB.

For information regarding accessible bulding regulations go to the Westminster Building Regulations page.

For anything further you might want, drop me an Email and I'll see if I can help.
